— Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) will host the sixth edition of the World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON2020) virtually from July 13 to 15.
In a statement today, UTP said the three-day congress will see the participation of more than 1,000 experts of diverse fields of research, innovation and commercialisation from 30 countries.
“The congress provides a platform for industry, academia, government and the public to take part in a global discussion that covers a wide range of topics from simulation, big data and analytics, augmented reality, autonomous robots and the industrial internet of thing to non-technical topics of leadership and values, economy, communication and community.
“Another highlight of ESTCON2020 is the virtual exhibition also will run concurrently with the conference, whereas industry players from corporations and various industries will showcase their products and services and latest innovations,” it said.
Meanwhile, UTP Vice-Chancellor cum ESTCON2020 chairman, Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib when speaking at the virtual soft-launch of the congress today, said more than 700 paper presenters from all over the world, including Malaysia, will be presenting their papers at the congress.
“There will be nine simultaneously held conferences dedicated to providing collaborative opportunities between the private sector, government and researchers to leverage their combined expertise to realise higher quality research, industry desired solutions and strategic national objectives,” he said.
Among the nine conferences are International Conference on Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology (ICOGET 2020), International Conference on Civil, Offshore and Environmental Engineering (ICCOEE 2020), International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS 2020) and International Conference for Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (ICMeSH2020).
Themed “Science, Technology and Humanities: Reinventing the Future”, the Congress is supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Academy of Science Malaysia.
