Sarawak Online portal reopens to help unsuccesful BKSS 7.0 applicants

KUCHING, Nov 8  — The Sarawak Online portal that can be accessed at www.sarawak.gov.my has been reopened from Oct 30 to Nov 13 to assist applicants who have not been able to provide complete documents when submitting applications for the one-off financial assistance under the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKKS) 7.0 for active small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

State Economic Planning Unit director, Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel said there were still a lot of applicants who had submitted incomplete and invalid documents when the portal was closed for the application submission on Oct 22.

“The Sarawak Government is very sincere in helping the business community (and) therefore, the companies have been urged to quickly resubmit the necessary documents through the Sarawak Online Portal so that the financial assistance can be given latest by December,” he said in a statement, here, today.

He said for the applicants’ convenience, an email had also been sent to all recipients on Oct 30 highlighting the required documents for submission and a short video on the manual and guidelines to fill in the application form is also available for reference.

“This is not to burden the companies but is part of the good governance mechanism to ensure transparency, accountability and integrity in managing public funds,” he said.

Muhammad Abdullah said a special evaluation committee involving his unit, State Attorney General’s Chamber, State Financial Secretary’s Office, State Social Security Organisation (Socso) and two state ministries had also been formed to undertake the measures to distribute BKSS 7.0 and BKSS 7.0 Plus, announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in August and October this year, respectively.

He added that the committee had approved 46,000 eligible SMEs and micro enterprises for the financial aid based on the list provided by Socso and payments have also been made to qualified recipients who have submitted complete and valid documents.

The BKSS 7.0 and BKSS 7.0 Plus involved special one-off assistance of RM10,000 to active businesses in Sarawak registered with Socso.
