Sangpuy, Soft Lipa, and Olivia Tsao win multiple awards at the 32nd Golden Melody Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, Puyuma singer-songwriter Sangpuy recently bagged the coveted Album of the Year award at the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan.

Sangpuy also won his third Best Indigenous Singer award, which he previously won in 2017 and 2012.

Rapper Soft Lipa was also a double award winner at the ceremony, taking home the Best Mandarin Album and Best Male Singer (Mandarin) for his album “Home Cookin”.

Hebe Tien won the Best Female Singer (Mandarin) award for her album “Time Will Tell.” Lyricist David Ke and producer George Chen also won Best Lyricist and Best Album Producer respectively for their work on Tien’s album.

Olivia Tsao, who sings in the Taiwanese language, won the Best Taiwanese Album and Best Taiwanese Singer awards for her album “tsu-pun”.

Meanwhile, the Song of the Year award went to Crowd Lu for his song “Your Name Engraved Herein”. The song was co-written by Malaysian and Singaporean composer and lyricist, composed of Keon Chia, Hooi Yuan Teng and Tan Boon Wah.

The 2021 edition of the Mando-pop most prestigious award show was held amidst the pandemic. The ceremony only featured the winning artists, with fans cheering on their idols virtually via streaming platforms.
