PINTA to hold Huffaz 23K gathering March 11

KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) — The National Association of Tahfiz Quran Institutions (Pinta) and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, will jointly hold the 23K Huffaz gathering on Saturday (March 11) at the Federal Territory Mosque, Kuala Lumpur.

Pinta president, Mohd Zahid Mahmood Al-hafiz, said that the fourth edition will bring together 23,000 huffaz (memorisers of the Quran) from across the country, who will complete reciting the whole of the Quran 1,000 times.

“The programme was first organised in 2015, involving 10,000 huffaz at that time,” he said in a statement here today.

According to Mohd Zahid, Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Ahmad Zahid are expected to attend the event.

He said the Huffaz 2023 Expo will also be held at the same location for the first time, from March 10 to 12, with the aim of giving the community an opportunity to have a better understanding of the Tahfiz Quran institution as the basis of Islamic education.

“In this expo, visitors will be able to visit, among other things, the exhibition booths to be set up by government agencies and private bodies; the Islamic Civilisation Artefact Gallery, in collaboration with Galeri Aura Islam; Islamic Scholars Gallery; Quran Exhibition with Restu Foundation and Nasyrul Quran; Zayan Forum and Al-Fatihah Clinic,” he said.

He also said that Pinta will provide additional parking spaces, as well as feeder bus services from the Kuala Lumpur High Court for the convenience of visitors.
