Perak opens four more walk-in vaccination centres

IPOH, Sept 8 — Perak has opened four more walk-in vaccination centres (PPVs) for COVID-19 to speed up the vaccination rate in the state, said State Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman Mohd Akmal Kamarudin.

Mohd Akmal said this new addition brings the total number of walk-in PPVs in the state to 19.

The four PPVs are at Dewan Kemas in Gopeng; Dewan Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UTAR) in Kampar; Dewan Serbaguna in Seri Iskandar and Dewan Besar Felcra in Changkat Lada.

“Individuals aged 18 and above can come to the PPVs to get their COVID-19 jabs starting today,” he said in a post on his official Facebook today.

He said the PPV at Dewan Serbaguna in Seri Iskandar is open for walk-in vaccine recipients from 1 pm to 5 pm, while the PPV at Dewan Besar Felcra is operational from 9 am to 3 pm.

“The PPVs at Dewan Kemas in Gopeng and Dewan Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik (UTAR) in Kampar are both open to walk-in vaccine recipients from 10 am to 3 pm,” he added.

Yesterday Mohd Akmal announced the opening of 15 walk-in PPVs in the state namely Indera Mulia Stadium, Dewan Bandaran Kinta in Batu Gajah, Dewan Tan Sri Ghazali Jawi in Slim River, Dewan Millenium Lubok Merbau in Kuala Kangsar, Dewan Majlis Perbandaran in Sungai Siput, Dewan Mohamed Jamrah, Sungai Sumun in Bagan Datuk, Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) Taiping, Dewan Permai in Selama, Dewan Bandaran Teluk Intan and Dewan Bandaran Pengkalan Hulu.

The other five PPVs are at Dewan Merdeka Lenggong, Dewan Serbaguna Gerik, Dewan Dato’ Zainal Abidin Zain in Bagan Serai, Dewan Kerian Permai in Parit Buntar and Dewan Perumahan Penjawat Awam Amanjaya, Lumut Kiri in Seri Manjung.
