Kelantan KMKM 2022 to highlight district uniqueness, local freedom fighters

JELI, Aug 9 (Bernama) — The Kembara Merdeka Keluarga Malaysia 2022 (KMKM 2022) in conjunction with the National Month celebrations in Kelantan will feature the uniqueness and stories of the independence fighters of the district visited.

Kelantan Information Department (JaPen) director Muhd Nor Aswadi Md Nor said these stories would be among the attractions of the programme besides the parade of 65 high-powered motorcycles.

“We will highlight the uniqueness of each district visited and feature stories of freedom fighters such as Tok Janggut when the convoy travels through Pasir Puteh district tomorrow,” he said when speaking at the KMKM 2022 programme flag-off at Dataran Ilmu, here today.

Kelantan Assembly Speaker Datuk Abdullah Ya’kub was on hand to flag off the convoy.

Yesterday Muhd Nor Aswadi, leader of the Kelantan convoy, received the KMKM 2022 Jalur Gemilang baton from the Perak convoy.

The Kelantan leg of the KMKM 2022 starts today and will travel through Jeli, Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas before ending in Kota Bharu, this afternoon.

Tomorrow the journey will continue starting in Kota Bharu, Machang before ending in Pasir Puteh before the baton is handed over to the Terengganu convoy.
