K-KOMM hopes to finish distributing PerantiSiswa tablets by end-Nov

KUALA SELANGOR, Nov 8 (Bernama) — The Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) is targeting to distribute the remaining estimated 100,000 PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia tablets by the end of this month.

Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that so far more than 200,000 PerantiSiswa sets had been distributed to students whose applications had been approved.

“Although the ministry’s original target is end of the year, we have brought it forward for all those already approved to be given before the end of November. Alhamdulillah everything is going smoothly and (distribution) quite fast due to the cooperation of all ministries.

“We have more than 80,000 applications which were not approved. I will relook these cases because if possible I want to give to all. Those rejected can still appeal,” he told reporters after presenting PerantiSiswa tablets to more than 300 students of Kolej Tingkatan Enam Sultan Abdul Aziz and Kolej Vokasional Kuala Selangor here today.

Also present was Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar.

The PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia programme is a government initiative to give free tablets to B40 students in institutions of higher learning.
