GLU, Aperti BUMN renew MoU on academic cooperation

Malaysian government-linked universities (GLU) and the Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises’ Higher Education Alliance (Aperti BUMN) have renewed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed since 2017 for the development of academic, research and student mobility programmes.

GLU chairman Prof Datuk Dr Mazliham Mohd Su’ud said through the MoU, GLU and Aperti BUMN would continue their collaboration to strengthen the development of academic programmes for target groups in Malaysia and Indonesia.

“Among the plans are mobility programmes involving students and lecturers, dual degree programmes, research development including joint research, matching grants, collaboration of community service programmes and in organising international conferences.

“The collaboration also involves the sharing of expertise from both countries to support these programmes,” he said in a statement today.

At the MoU signing ceremony last Tuesday, GLU was represented by Mazliham while Aperti BUMN was represented by its chairman Prof Dr Adiwijaya.

The MoU was further strengthened when the top management of both parties held a meeting following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent discussions with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace to explore cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
