COVID: Only 1.84 per cent of new cases in Sarawak have lung infection

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 — Entries for the Socso Media Award 2021, organised by the Social Security Organisation (Socso) in collaboration with the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), are now open, with a total of RM24,000 and trophies offered to the winners.

According to a post on the MPI website, the closing date for entries is Oct 21 and it is open to Malaysians and permanent residents working as journalists, photographers, cameramen and graphic designers working full-time with any media organisation.

Themed “Caring for Five Decades and Forever”, the awards, organised in conjunction with Socso’s Golden Jubilee celebration, lists nine categories based on their respective media platforms, namely electronic media, print media and digital media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, news portal).

The post said works eligible for participation in the awards must have been broadcast and published from June 1, 2020 to Oct 15, 2021, and no entry fee is charged.

“Participants are required to submit entries digitally by filling in the URL link in the entry material link field. Participants are encouraged to submit materials via cloud storage services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, WeTransfer and others,” according to the display.

The awards are being held to appreciate the contributions and services of local media practitioners who have greatly helped to promote, educate and raise public awareness on social security protection under Socso through their journalistic work.
