COVID: End of double-digit trend in Sarawak’s daily cases

KUCHING, Jan 10 — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Sarawak recorded another record low today with only seven cases, thus ending the trend of double-digit figures (or higher) over the past two years.

The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) in its daily statement said that of the total number of new cases, four were detected in Kuching, Bintulu (two) and Sibu (one) districts.

No new cases were reported in the other 43 districts in the state.

Of the seven cases reported today, five were asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic while only two cases were of lung infection and requiring oxygen.

The new cases have brought the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Sarawak to 252,505.
