COVID: EMCO for several localities in Sarawak – JPBN

The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be enforced in several localities in Sarawak from tomorrow until July 17, the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) said in a statement today.

The areas involved are Power Bright Camp workers quarters’ in Tatau district from June 30 to July 13; Rumah Milai, Rumah Mang and Rumah Changgie in Saratok from July 1 to 14: and Rumah Ngelai in Sarikei from July 1 to 17.

“Three clusters, namely Sungai Ranan (Kanowit), Jalan Endap Sawit (Samarahan) and Tengah Hulu Gedong (Simunjan) clusters have been declared ended,” the statement read.

Following this, there are now 95 active clusters in the state.

Sarawak also recorded 376 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the total number of cases to 64,851 cases,.

Of the number, 254 were detected following close contact screenings. 61 cases were from existing active cluster, 38 were cases from other health facility screening and 23 were symptomatic cases.

Meanwhile, one fatality was recorded bringing the death toll to 409.
