กรุงริยาด, ซาอุดีอาระเบีย, Feb. 07, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ในความก้าวหน้าทางวิทยาศาสตร์ครั้งใหญ่ ทีมวิจัยจาก King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) ร่วมกับ King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) โดยทำงานร่วมกับนักวิจัยจากสหราชอาณาจักร สหรัฐอเมริกา และอินเดีย ได้ค้นพบยีนสำคัญที่ใช้เป็นเครื่องมือในการต่อสู้กับโรคมาลาเรีย ยีนนี้มีชื่อว่า PfAP2-MRP มีความสำคัญในกระบวนการจำลองแบบของพลาสโมเดียม ฟัลซิพารัม ซึ่งเป็นปรสิตที่ทำให้เกิดสายพันธุ์มาลาเรียที่ร้ายแรงที่สุด
