COMMENT | Campaigns without campaigning in Malacca

Published by
Malaysiakini (English)

COMMENT | It is a few days before polling day in Malacca. Red, blue and the occasional yellow flags pepper the roads across Malaysia’s majestic historical gem. Residents are going about their everyday business, focusing on surviving, largely disconnected from the political competition. Disengagement The situation on the ground is markedly different than any other election in Malaysia. There is little excitement. Part of this is due to the Covid-19 imposed campaign SOPs that … Continue reading “COMMENT | Campaigns without campaigning in Malacca”

However, it would seem that the present Malaysian government does not take climate change or natural environment issues seriously. Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob had pledged that Malaysia will meet her carbon goals by 2050, yet Environment and Water Minister… Continue reading “COMMENT | Give our rainforest chance to breath and rejuvenate”
