JAPEN ‘INFO ON WHEELS’ TO HELP KELANTAN FOLKS DEAL WITH HOT WEATHER

The Kelantan Information Department (JaPen) has mobilised its machinery to spread the word about preparations for hot weather throughout the state for the past few weeks.

Japen director Mohd Nur Aswadi Md Nor said the ‘Info On Wheels’ (IOW) programme was one of the agency’s approaches to convey information and government recommendations to the public regarding precautionary measures to deal with the current monsoon transition.

“We want to provide accurate information and awareness to the community about the importance of taking care of health during the hot spell.

“We have moved all 10 public transport vehicles to the districts in Kelantan so that the communities can take appropriate precautions to avoid mishaps,” he said.

He said this at the state-level ‘Program Demokrasi Kita (Our Democracy Programme) @ Kelab Malaysiaku’ in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, Bandar Machang here today.

The programme was held to provide exposure to students about a constitutional state in addition to a vote simulation attended by 320 students from 80 secondary schools in the state.

Muhd Nur Aswadi said a collaboration with the State Education Department (JPN) is also being drawn up for the same purpose.

“At the moment, we are channeling information regarding preparations for the hot season through a WhatsApp teaching group to be disseminated to students.

“We will take some other approaches in collaboration with JPN after a joint meeting is held,” he said.
