KPDNHEP: No drastic hike in vegetable prices in N. Sembilan

SEREMBAN, Nov 26 — The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) has not found any drastic hike in the prices of vegetables in Negeri Sembilan.

Negeri Sembilan KPDNHEP director Ain Arjuna Aziz Zaman said that based on observations carried out by the Enforcement and Price Monitoring Section, no drastic price hikes had been recorded.

She said the survey covered vegetables such as cauliflower, choy sum, broccoli, green beans, cabbage, as well as red and green chillies over the past month.

According to her, the gradual increase in prices was influenced by several factors, such as transportation costs, weather conditions, and the imbalanced demand in the market.

“Some items were found undergoing hikes and drops in prices, such as red and green chillies and cabbage,” she said, adding that in general, there was adequate vegetable supply in Negeri Sembilan.

She also advised consumers to compare the prices of essentials via the ministry’s ‘Price Catcher’ application, which is available on both Android and iOS.

K’tan assemblymen to take RT-PCR test on Dec 1 – State Speaker

KOTA BHARU, Nov 26 — All 44 Kelantan assemblymen must take the COVID-19 RT-PCR or reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test on Dec 1 at the Dewan Kompleks Kota Darulnaim before attending the state Budget sitting the next day, Kelantan speaker Datuk Abdullah Ya’kub said.

Abdullah said the state assembly session will see standard operating procedures (SOP) being implemented as instructed by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“The SOP is similar to what we had previously enforced where all those involved such as assemblymen, heads of department and media practitioners must take the COVID-19 test before attending the state assembly sitting.

“This is to ensure that those attending the assembly are healthy and they must also put on their face masks, scan the QR code and observe physical distancing,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

The Kelantan Budget 2022 is expected to be tabled on Dec 2, while the state assembly session will be held from Dec 5 to 7.
