Pahang to build additional 104 units of free houses for the needy

The state government will build another 104 units of Pahang People’s House (RRP) from September, especially for the needy, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

He said the State Executive Council meeting today approved the additional units under Phase 3, to the 102 units that were approved under Phase 2 for implementation and construction this year.

“This means that 206 units of RRP, priced at RM65,000 per unit or RM13.39 million in total, will be built this year.

“A total of 98 units of houses worth RM6.37 million have been completed and occupied under Phase 1, which was launched last year,” he said in a statement today.

Through the initiative, he said the units were given free to the needy, especially those registered under the e-Kasih system.

“It is hoped that more RRPs can be built based on the state government’s financial capability,” he said.

MOH detects vaccination certificates being sold online – Dr Noor Azmi

The Health Ministry (MOH) has detected the sale of vaccination certificates, in the form of physical cards on an online platform, in the northern part of the country.

Its deputy minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said MOH Inspectorate and Legal Unit would take action against the party involved, adding that a police report had been lodged over the matter.

“We do not allow the sale of vaccination certificates because there will be individuals who claim they have already received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

“The ministry never make any procurement to issue the vaccination cards. If they want to dine-in at eateries or cross districts, they need to show the digital certificate on the MySejahtera application or the vaccination card issued by MOH,” he told reporters after visiting the public vaccination centre at the Social Welfare Department Complex here today.

Yesterday, Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Department head Dr Mohd Rushdan Noor in a Facebook post revealed that COVID-19 vaccination certificates were being sold online at RM15 each.

In another development, Dr Noor Azmi said individuals who returned to Malaysia from overseas were required to register in the MySejahtera application to enable them to update their health status.

“At the airport, MOH staff will record all the information about their health to be uploaded into the MySejahtera application,” he said.

Previously, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Malaysian travellers and non-citizens with homes in Malaysia (including Permanent Residents and Malaysia MY Second Home participants) who are fully vaccinated were allowed to undergo compulsory home quarantine on their return to the country and would be given digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO).

The retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol, as well as diesel, will remain unchanged at RM2.74, RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively from Aug 12 to 18.

Ministry of Finance (MOF) in a statement today said the prices were set based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

According to MOF, the government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people.
