(UPDATE) MALAYSIANS A MODEL OF CLEANLINESS IN MAKKAH

MAKKAH, Aug 27 (NNN-Bernama)After seeing how Malaysian pilgrims kept their surroundings neat and tidy in the Masyair Prime Cleanliness Campaign by Tabung Haji (TH), Saudi Arabia is now proposing the same programme is implemented for all pilgrims in future.

Saudi Arabia Haj and Umrah vice minister, Dr Abdulfattah Suliman Mashat, considers Malaysia a model of cleanliness as the pilgrims kept their tents in Mina and Arafah spick and span during Masyair, the climax of the haj.

Actually, this is our duty as a muslim. We need to take care of our places and tents. This (should be) the attitude of every muslim, he said.

“We are currently discussing with TH on how we can provide a ‘green concept’, in sha Allah, in the future or next year for the benefit of everybody,” said Abdulfattah at a meeting between his ministry and TH’s holy land top officers today.

Also at the meeting were TH head of the Malaysian 1439H haj delegation, Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman, as well as haj delegation deputy heads (welfare) Nurrinanuwar Shamsuddin and (medical) Dr Shaffari Marzuki.

“I would like to thank TH for its excellent and efficient haj system for Malaysian pilgrims. We are working very closely with them to improve ourselves as well as them, for the sake of Allah SWT and the good experience of pilgrims,” he said.
