Traffic slow on several major highways as at 5pm

KUALA LUMPUR, Traffic flow on several major highways is reported to be slow, as the public started to return from their hometown after the Chinese New Year holiday season, as at 5pm today.

According to a PLUS Malaysia Berhad spokesman, traffic from the north was moving slowly from Pendang to Gurun, Juru to Bandar Cassia, Changkat Jering to Bukit Berapit, Sungai Perak to Menora Tunnel and Ipoh to Sungkai.

Traffic flow in the south was also slow from Nilai to Putra Mahkota, Nilai to Bandar Ainsdale, Senawang Rest Area to Port Dickson, and Ayer Keroh Rest and Service Area to Kampung Bemban Rest Area, he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

He said traffic was also slow from Bukit Gambir to Pagoh until Ayer Hitam, Machap to Senai, and to the Sultan Iskandar Building from Singapore to Malaysia and vice-versa.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for ANIH Berhad when contacted said the traffic flow at the East Coast Expressway 1 and 2 were smooth on both directions.

Traffic flow was slow at Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway to Gombak Toll Plaza due to the increase in traffic at the Lebuhraya Lingkaran Tengah 2 (MRR2) Kuala Lumpur, he said.
