Tawau Indonesian consulate extends help to employers of undocumented workers

TAWAU, Employers of undocumented Indonesians here have been advised to duly register such workers.

Indonesian Consulate Tawau chief Sulistijo Djati Ismojo said doing so would facilitate the process of getting the necessary travel documents and permit for the republic’s citizens who entered here illegally to look for employment.

“We can assist them to obtain passports so they can work here legally, he told reporters at the consulate’s Aidilfitri open house here today.

In this regard, he said the consulate had assisted more that 8,000 Indonesians.

Meanwhile, he said Malaysians should have no qualms about visiting Indonesia.

“From information we received from Jakarta, the situation in Indonesia is peaceful, there’s no trouble; please if you wish do visit, he said.

Djati also thanked the state government for reopening barter trade between Sabah and Indonesia as well as Philippines.
