Taman Manggis PPR tenants evicted for violating rental agreement

GEORGE TOWN, The decision to evict more than 20 tenants of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Taman Manggis here was made after the tenants were found to have violated several conditions for residing in the housing area.

Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow said the order was made based on the concept of the PPR to allow tenants rent the houses for five years only.

“Tenants were only given five years to rent but the majority of those evicted had been staying for 10 to 11 years.
