Suspect who threatened, slapped cashier nabbed

GEORGE TOWN, A man who slapped and threatened a female cashier at a convenience store in Bayan Lepas, near here, on Tuesday after he became angry when he could not buy three packets of cooking oil, was arrested by police today.

Southwest district police chief, Supt A.A. Anbalagan said the 47-year-old man was nabbed at a roadside in Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas at 2 pm.

“The man, a trader, admitted to verbally abusing and hurting the woman, aged 29, before threatening her in the incident because he could not control his anger,” he said today.
