JOHOR BAHRU Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, today donated 2,000 packets of bubur lambuk (savoury porridge) to the people in Kulai district.
According to a statement posted on Sultan Ibrahim official Facebook page, the contributions were handed over by palace staff to members of the public via ‘drive-through’ style.
Apart bubur lambuk, 2,500 hands sanitisers as well as pamphlets on personal hygiene were also distributed.
The contributions were a collaboration with Temasek Foundation and SMRT Corporation from Singapore.
Meanwhile a senior citizen Raja Aishah Raja Abdul Rahman, 71, from Kampung Dato’ Sulaiman Menteri here, did not expect her comment at Sultan Ibrahim Facebook page has caught Johor Sultan’s attention.
“I saw and read on Johor Sultan Facebook page regarding the bubur lambuk contribution to the people in various areas in Johor.
“Unfortunately, I do not have my own vehicle to collect the bubur lambuk which were distributed in several areas, so I wrote in the Facebook comment section, asking if I could taste the bubur lambuk from the Sultan of Johor. I did not expect my comment to be taken seriously,” said Raja Aishah, who received the porridge from Johor Sultan’s representative Datuk R. Sugumaran at her house.
