SRDC To Work Closely With Elected Reps, Says Chairman

SIBU: Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) will work closely together with elected people’s representatives to ensure smooth implementation of projects to benefit the people, says its chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai.

He said this yesterday when Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira made a courtesy call on him.

They discussed the implementation of rural transformation programme (RTP) projects in Tamin constituency.

I have also informed YB Christopher Gira that the council will work hand-in-hand with local elected representatives under our jurisdiction.

He has proposed many projects for Tamin and Selangau bazaar, such as public toilets and others, which will be implemented soon.

I hope that with the good rapport and cooperation with the YB a lot of RTP and the other projects can be implemented smoothly, Sempurai said.

During the visit, Gira was briefed by the council’s engineering technical assistant Ismailie Sallehuddin on the implementation of the RTP projects.

Later, Gira presented a grant of RM30,000 for the coming Pesta Selangau.
