Senior cycling athlete to set up Persatuan Basikal Master

IPOH, A former national Olympic cyclist is planning to set up the Persatuan Basikal Master as part of efforts to bring together the country’s senior cycling athletes.

Shaharuddin Jaafar, 79, who is also gold medallist in the SEAP Games in 1965, said the establishment of the association was aimed at imparting knowledge including riding techniques to those aged 30 and above as well as giving guidance to members at the district and state levels.

It is quite complicated process to set up this association but due to huge interest, everything can be done, Insya Allah (God willing). There are many former cycling athletes but no association to represent them, he told Bernama here today.
