In celebration of the last remaining days of Syawal, RHB Bank Berhad on Friday held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri event to express its gratitude to their loyal customers and their hard working staff members at the Banquet Hall, The Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong.
Present at the event were Ng Moon Kwee, Country Head Brunei Operations and Luk Tung Hie, Head of Business Development Brunei Operations.
Ng Moon Kwee said, “We have been in Brunei for 50 years and we definitely will be here for the next 50 years. RHB bank is one of the biggest banks in Malaysia and we definitely want to be represented in Asean, especially in Brunei.”
Currently, RHB has branches in Brunei, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and Singapore as well as RHB OSK in Hong Kong and Indonesia.
RHB Brunei was established in 1965, but it was eventually rebranded as the United Malayan Banking Corporation Berhad (UMBC) in 1996 which, according to RHB was changed under the ownership of the Sime Darby Group of Malaysia. On May 13, 1999, the bank was renamed as RHB Bank Berhad under the banking consolidation exercise in Malaysia.
