Public Invited to Communication Carnival at IWK Eco Park@Pantai Dalam from Tomorrow.


KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the public are invited to attend the 2024 Communication Carnival, which will take place at IWK Eco Park @ Pantai Dalam here this Friday and Saturday. Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (Telecommunications Infrastructure) Mano Verabathran said that the purpose of organising the carnival is, among other things, to enhance communication literacy among the public and to increase their understanding of the ministry’s initiatives.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mano Verabathran emphasized that the carnival aims to educate the public on internet and broadband usage and the easy delivery of information online. The event seeks to raise awareness and empower the public to prevent internet misuse and protect themselves from scams. Educational information will be shared during the carnival, including explanations about the emergency line 999 and how it is often misused, to prevent recurrence. Additionally, there will be a briefing on scam issues conducted by the National Financi
al Crime Prevention Centre (NFCC).

Mano stated that in addition to departments and agencies under the Communications Ministry, the carnival will also feature agencies from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, Home Ministry, Health Ministry, the Royal Malaysian Police, and telecommunications companies such as U Mobile, CelcomDigi, Maxis, and YTL (YES).

Some of the activities planned for the carnival include the Rahmah Sale, personalized stamp printing by Pos Malaysia, telco package offers, Quran exchange, and a counter for paying traffic fines. As the closing event on Saturday, the RIUH x Communication Carnival 2024 concert will feature local artistes including Bunkface, Naim Daniel, Iman Troye, and the MUAH! band.
