PRIME MINISTER ATTENDS AKIKO SUWANAI CONCERT WITH MPO

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 2019 (Bernama) — ‘The Romantic Violin’ performance by famous violinist from Japan, Akiko Suwanai together with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) had mesmerised about 800 members who attended the show at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall (DFP), tonight.

This was Suwanai’s second performance with the MPO since the year 2008. Suwanai was the youngest winner at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in 1990. He had also cooperated with many famous conductors and symphony orchestra worldwide.

The concert organised by MPO in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia was also attended by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali who is also patron of the MPO.

The special concert aimed to forge closer ties between the two countries in terms of music.
