Petronas contributes essential items, fuel card to needy families

KOTA BHARU 900 needy families in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang have received a contribution of essential items and fuel cards from Yayasan Petronas and Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) for Hari Raya and to lighten their load during the COVID-19 crisis.

Donated under the Sentuhan Kasih Petronas corporate social responsibility programme, the contribution was channelled through the Social Welfare Department (JKM) in Kota Bharu, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Tumpat, Kemaman, Dungun, Kuala Nerus, Kuantan and Kuala Lipis.

“It is hoped that the contribution brings happiness as they prepare for Hari Raya which is coming soon,” said Petronas east coast general manager, Che Ahmad Tarmizi A. Rahman, in a statement today.

He said 5,000 needy families across the country will be receiving contributions totalling RM1 million for the upcoming Kaamatan and Gawai festivals in East Malaysia as well.

Distribution of the contributions by over 100 PDB dealers, as well as JKM representatives plus Petronas and Yayasan Petronas volunteers, started on May 4 and will end June 5.
