ALOR SETAR The people of Kedah welcomed the appointment of Jeneri assemblyman, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as their new Menteri Besar and hope he will look after the interests and welfare of all the people in the state.
Tengku Nur Shazwani Tengku Shaifful Bahri, 31, said the appointment which was seen to have ended a political turmoil in the state would give Muhammad Sanusi the opportunity to govern the state especially in these challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I also hope that the control of foreigners in the state will be tightened especially in the coastal waters of Langkawi. In addition, I hope the menteri besar also resolves the water supply problem in the state, she added.
“At the same time, I, as a business person hope the new government under the leadership of the current Menteri Besar will find the best way to control the price of raw materials in the state,” she told Bernama here, today.
Meanwhile, civil servant Ismaullah Ismail, 38, hopes that Muhammad Sanusi will ensure the welfare of the civil servants in the state is maintained so that all who serve in the sector remain motivated to perform their duties more efficiently.
“I hope the Menteri Besar can fulfill this responsibility well and is willing to receive views and suggestions from all quarters including those of civil servants to help develop this beloved state especially in the post-COVID-19 period,” he said.
Muhammad Izzat Syafiq Ibrahim, 26, hopes that Muhammad Sanusi would introduce better policies for the younger generation, including in terms of employment, business and education.
“I also hope that all the projects that have been planned by the former menteri besar including the Kulim International Airport (KXP) project will continue to provide employment opportunities for the people in the state, especially for the young.
“I also want it to be made easier for young people to venture into entrepreneurship,” he said.
Muhammad Sanusi, 46, took his oath of office before the Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah at a ceremony held at the Sultan of Kedah’s office at Wisma Darul Aman.
