KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia April 25 (NNN-Bernama)Family members of a Palestinian lecturer who was gunned down in Setapak here last Saturday and the Palestinian community in Malaysia have expressed gratitude over the profound solidarity shown by the Malaysian Government and the people.
Dr Abdalrahim Shehab, a close friend and compatriot of the murdered electrical engineering lecturer, Dr Fadi Mohammed Al Batsh, said the victim’s family also extended its gratitude to two Malaysian representatives who would accompany family members to facilitate the repatriation of the deceased’s remains to Gaza.
On behalf of the family and the Palestinian community, we want to thank the Malaysian Government and the people for the continuous support and dedication towards the Palestinian cause.
We also like to thank Wanita UMNO Chief, Shahrizat Abdul Jalil for her visit, he told reporters here today.
Fadi, 35, was shot dead while on his way to the surau to perform the Subuh prayers outside a condominium in Jalan Meranti, Setapak.
Earlier, Shahrizat, who represented the women’s wing presented a contribution to the victim’s widow, Enas Al Batsh, 31, and the couple’s three children at their home in Setapak here.

On Saturday, Fadi, who lectured at a private higher education institution, was killed outside the Idaman Puteri condominium in Setapak, while walking to the Medan Idaman surau.
It was reported that two men in full-face helmets and atop a high-powered motorcycle waited 20 minutes in the dark near Jalan Meranti before assassinating the victim.–NNN-BERNAMA
