KOTA BHARU, The Kelantan Social Welfare Department (JKM) has yet to receive the instruction to open a temporary settlement to assist the Orang Asli in Kuala Koh, Gua Musang, said director Said Sidup.
“We always keep in touch with the state health department and the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) to monitor the situation in the area.
The temporary settlement would be located far from the village area which has been declared a red zone,” he told a press conference at Rumah Seri Kenangan (RSK) Taman Kemumin here today.
Meanwhile, Said said the department had sent food supplies and other necessities to the Orang Asli from the Batek tribe in Kampung Kuala Koh on Monday.
“The aid amounting to almost RM14,000 was given to 150 people from 58 families,” he said.
