KANGAR, Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man today launched the state-level National Month celebration and ‘Fly the Jalur Gemilang’ campaign at the grounds of the State Legislative Assembly Complex, here.
The event was also attended by the state’s department heads, representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and members of the public.
It was made merrier with a ‘flying fox’ show by two members of the Perlis Rock Climbers’ Association who brought down the Malaysian flag and handed it to Azlan.
At the launch, Azlan also handed out the Jalur Gemilang to the heads of department, representatives from the private sector, NGOs and various communities.
The menteri besar then flagged off a convoy of high-powered motorcycles with 62 riders led by Perlis State Secretary, Azman Mohd Yusoff, on a route around the state.
The state-level National Day celebration will be held on the eve of Aug 31 at the Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex.
