Muhyiddin and Maldives counterpart discuss bilateral cooperation

KUALA LUMPUR, Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today received a courtesy call from his Maldives counterpart Sheik Imran Abdulla at his residence here.

A statement by the Home Ministry’s office said the one-hour meeting saw them discussing bilateral cooperation on security, immigration and prison issues.

The two nations had previously collaborated on prison issues, where the Maldives Prisons’ Human Resources Development programme was set up based on a rehabilitation model of the Malaysian Prisons Department.
