BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, touched down in Brunei on Sunday afternoon, for a two-day official visit, to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with the sultanate.
Dr. Mahathir was welcomed by Brunei’s Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, as well as, other high-ranking government officials.
During his two-day official visit, the Malaysian Prime Minister will hold talks with Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, on relations between the two countries and ways to bolster them in various fields.
Talks between the two leaders will also focus on the latest regional and international developments, as well as, issues of common interest.
Last year, the total trade between Brunei and Malaysia stood at 1.14 billion U.S dollars, an increase of 70 percent from the previous year.
