MALAYSIA: THREE MEN BEATEN BY EIGHT OVER A LOAN

BUTTERWORTH, Malaysia Oct 8 (NNN-Bernama)Three men were injured after they were beaten by a group of men over an unsettled loan in an incident in a food outlet in Jalan Raja Uda, here Saturday.

Seberang Perai Utara Police Chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said in the incident at 10.15 p.m., three men went to the food outlet to discuss with a man from the group who owed the victim money.

One of the suspects borrowed money from the victim last month and as of Saturday, had not repaid the loan so the victim contacted him to discuss the matter, he said here yesterday.

He said an argument broke out between the two before the suspect and his friends attacked the victims and his two friends with chairs and parangs.

Noorzainy said the three men, aged between 20 and 28 years, suffered injuries after they were beaten by the eight suspects and have been sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ) for treatment.

He said the man who loaned money to the suspect suffered slash wounds on his right leg and left arm and broke his right leg and left wrist. His two friends suffered bruises and wounds on the head and arms.

Noorzainy said police have identified the eight men, aged between 20 and 35, who were involved in the incident.NNN-BERNAMA
