PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the government will be setting up a task force to implement Pakatan Harapan (PH) election manifesto promises that are to be delivered within 100 days.
She said the matter had been approved by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Dr Wan Azizah, who is also PKR president, said the task force would focus on social entrepreneurship initiatives, leadership development for women and the Harapan (Hope) Project initiative.
Priority will also be given to addressing childhood malnutrition and stunting as reported in the study by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) caused by urban poverty and involving children in Kelantan.
The welfare of senior citizens and Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contribution for housewives also heads the list of priorities, she told a press conference here today.
Earlier, Dr Wan Azizah started her job as the new Deputy Prime Minister at her office at the Perdana Putra Building here. PH made up of Bersatu, PKR, DAP and Amanah ended the Barisan Nasional’s six-decade rule of the country in the 14th general election on May 9.
