MALAYSIA: PRABAKARAN DENIES OFFERED RM25 MLN TO VACATE SEAT FOR ANWAR

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia Batu Member of Parliament P. Prabakaran today denied claims that he was offered RM25 million to vacate his seat to make way for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.

I think it is fake, false statement, I can’t comment anything on rumours, he said when approached by reporters at the Parliament lobby.

He was asked to comment on fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin claiming that there were rumours to the effect.

Prior to this, Selayang MP William Leong Jee Keen had announced that he was willing to vacate his seat for Anwar.

In 14th general election on May 9, Prabakaran, who stood as an independent but later joined PKR, created Malaysian history by becoming the youngest candidate to win a parliamentary seat. He won by a majority of 24,438 votes.

His challengers were Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai (Barisan Nasional) , Azhar Yahya (PAS) and VM Panjamothy (Independent).NNN-BERNAMA
