KOTA KINABALU, Sabah state, Malaysia Oct 10 (NNNBernama) Sabah state police have confirmed that Sabah state Deputy Chief Minister Christina Liew’s political secretary Raymond Ahuar is not the individual involved in the rape of two Indonesian women, as had gone viral in a video clip recently.
Sabah state police commissioner Omar Mammah said that based on reports lodged by the victims, aged 23 and 36, at the Keningau police station on Sept 25, police arrested a suspect in connection with the case.
He said the suspect, a 31year old selfemployed local, was caught the next day in Keningau.
“We urge all quarters not to spread fake news, he told reporters after attending the State Security Council meeting here yesteray.
The meeting was chaired by Sabah state Chief Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal.
He said police also received a report from Raymond on Friday and would conduct a probe regarding the video clip.
The 25second clip which went viral on social media alleged involvement of Raymond, a PKR candidate vying for the number two post in the party’s Youth wing. PKR elections are currently underway.
On another matter, Omar said police would be handing over the updated investigation papers on alleged criminal intimidation by former Sabah state chief minister Musa Aman against Sabah state Yang Dipertua Negeri (Governor) Juhar Mahiruddin to the AttorneyGeneral’s Chambers soon.
He said the IPs had been submitted earlier but were returned by the AGC with fresh instructions.
In KENINGAU. Raymond said the case (spreading of the video clip alleging he was involved) was an attempt to tarnish his image.
