MALAYSIA: NAJIB ARRIVES AT MACC HQ TO GIVE STATEMENT

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia Former Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters here to give his statement on the investigation into the SRC International Sdn Bhd case.

Najib came at 9.42am in a Toyota Vellfire amidst tight security control by police.

It was learnt only the Pekan MP would be giving statement to MACC officers in the interview room in the building.

Dozens of local and international media personnel had already gathered in the compound of MACC headquarters as early as 8am to cover the case involving Najib.

In this regard, MACC chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull is expected to hold a media conference at 11.30am.

Last Friday, a team of MACC officers visited Najib’s house in Taman Duta in Kuala Lumpur to serve a notice for the Pekan MP’s presence at MACC headquarters to give his statement in the case.

SRC International was subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), until it was placed under the Finance Ministry in 2012.

On Jan 26 2016, the media reported Attorney General Mohamed Apandi Ali confirmed there were no criminal offences committed by Najib in relation to the case involving RM2.6 billion and SRC International.
