His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, attended the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapons Free Zone Commission Meeting (SEANWFZ). The meeting took place at Putra World Trade Centre, PWTC, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday.
The meeting was chaired by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Datuk Sri Anifah Haji Aman, Malaysia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting among others shared the positive progress in the implementation of the Action Plan on Strengthening the Implementation of the SEANWFZ Treaty and efforts to encourage the Nuclear Weapon States to sign the SEANWFZ Protocol as well as to preserve Southeast Asia as a nuclear weapons free region.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah also consented to join the ASEAN Foreign Ministers for the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting Interface with ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR). ASEAN reaffirms its commitment in protecting human rights towards realising a cohesive and inclusive ASEAN Community 2015.
