LIMBANG: The Limbang District Council (LDC) field will be developed into the Limbang Town Square, which will include 40 to 50 parking spaces to address the shortage faced here.
Assistant Minister of Agriculture Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said RM5 million has been allocated for the project.
Parking problems need to be addressed and we have the necessary by-laws to implement the project including a paid parking system and multi-storey carpark.
The council needs to plan or consider implementing paid parking in certain areas of Limbang, he told the media on Wednesday after launching LDC’s night market.
On a name for the market, Dr Abdul Rahman suggested it be called the Limbang Night Street Market.
The Bukit Kota assemblyman said the market was set up under the Social Economic Transformation Programme for rural development.
It can accommodate 108 traders selling food and drinks, as well as clothing.
Among those present were Limbang member of parliament Hasbi Habibollah, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Gumbang, and LDC walikota Sufian Mohat.
