Efforts to promote Sarawak as CAN destination

KUCHING: Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah will intensify efforts to promote Sarawak as a destination for culture, adventure and nature (CAN).

He said Sarawak will not be sold to the oustide world as shopping destination adding the state’s tourism industry will continue to be developed.

Sarawak has its uniqueness and differences and these factors will continue to be used, he said when opening the event and meeting centre cum restaurant, the 11 Ridgeway at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here yesterday.

Abdul Karim believed the 11 Ridgeway is set to be a popular place and focal point for people of various races and ages apart from a venue for them to exchange ideas, holding cultural exhibitions, workshops and encouraging entrepreneurship among the youths.

The 11 Ridgeway operation is headed by Fiona Marcus Raja and Desmond Wong.
