Drowning victim updates status on Whatsapp before tragedy strikes

One of the victims who drowned in the incident near the Sungai Pedu Pump House, Kampung Bukit Sena, Padang Terap, near here, had time to update their status on WhatsApp, 17 minutes before the tragedy that claimed three lives, today.

The victim’s aunt, Sabariah Shaari, 46, said her niece Nur Sariza Hafniza Samsudin, 14, had shared a picture of the river with the phrase ‘Hmm panas�’ at 12.43 pm before the incident occurred at about 1 pm.

Besides Nur Sariza, also killed in the incident was her elder sister, Nur Safia Hafiza Samsudin, 16, and their grandfather, Mohamad Ramli Ibrahim, 65.
