Authorities arrested a police officer and three others and seized PHP13.6 million worth of shabu in an anti-drug operation in Jolo, Sulu on Thursday night.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) director Gil Cesario Castro identified the suspects as Staff Sgt. Moh Radja Ismula, 49, of the Sulu Police Provincial Offce and civilians Andam M. Alidjam, 65; Midarmi Alidjam, 44; and Rahsi Jallaw, 54, all residents of Jolo town.
“During the 6 p.m. buy-bust operation in Barangay San Raymundo, PDEA agents recovered two large sachets of suspected shabu weighing 2,000 grams,” Castro said in a report on Friday.
The suspects also yielded buy-bust money, two mobile phones, identification cards, bank receipts, and a motorcycle.
Ismula is the second police officer to be arrested in a buy-bust operation in the BARMM in the past 10 days.
On Sept. 4, PDEA agents apprehended a policeman and three others in Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, confiscating shabu
worth PHP68,000.
Since January, anti-drug operations across BARMM have led to the seizure of nearly PHP100 million worth of shabu.
