CHEQUE PRESENTATION CEREMONY FOR THE FLOOD AND HEAT WAVE VICTIMS IN JAPAN

A cheque presentation ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya on 15 August 2018. The contribution was from the Government of Malaysia to the victims of floods and heat waves that hit central and southwestern Japan recently.

YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia presented a cheque amounting to RM500,000.00 to HE Dr. Makio Miyagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, as a mark of solidarity and sympathy from the people of Malaysia to the people of Japan.

In his remarks, YB Foreign Minister expressed Malaysia’s deepest condolences to the Government and people of Japan, especially to the victims and the bereaved families. He also emphasised Malaysia’s continuous support for Japan and expressed hope that the contribution by the Government of Malaysia would help in the recovery efforts for the communities in the affected area.
