KUALA LUMPUR, Caltex with Techron recently powered a 28-year-old car up 1,000m to earn a new Guinness World Records for the ‘Fastest Ascent of Doi Chang Mountain Road by Car’ with Jamaican-Chinese professional race car driver, Natasha Chang, behind the wheel.
A two-part National Geographic programme called ‘Record Rides’ has documented her feat in Thailand which was part of Caltex’s Fuel Power Challenge.
Chang defeated her challenger, television host, KC Montero, to reach the summit in 6 minutes and 52.962 seconds.
In a statement, Caltex product engineering manager, Greg Engeler, said Caltex with Techron has been specially formulated to clean and protect engines, and the Guinness World Records title demonstrates how a clean engine powered by Techron can function at its most optimum, which includes delivering maximum power to wheels.
This is the same fuel that our customers can experience at their neighbourhood Caltex stations to power their everyday drive, he said.
Caltex Malaysia celebrity partner, Datuk Hans Isaac, said the achievement by Caltex has inspired him to further prove the efficiency of Caltex with Techron.
With only one tank of this innovative fuel, my friend Man and I will attempt to drive up Cameron Highlands in our national car, the 1985 Proton Saga, he said.
