405 UPM graduates to receive their scrolls at Bintulu Campus inaugural convocation

BINTULU, Oct 31 (Bernama) — For the first time, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)  will hold a convocation ceremony at the university’s Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) tomorrow (Nov 1).

 

In a statement, UPM said the university’s Chancellor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah will award Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees as well as diplomas to 405 graduates of various programmes at Session 1 of its 46th Convocation.

 

Sultan Sharafuddin is also expected to attend a State Dinner with Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud at a hotel in Bintulu tonight.

 

 

 

 

UPMKB currently has two faculties, namely the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Forestry and the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Science and the Borneo Ecoscience Institute.

 

The green campus sits on a 714.178 ha land which can accommodate 2,800 students at any one time and offers PhD, Master’s, Bachelor’s and Diploma programmes.
