They need to radically overhaul their legacy operations and be more intelligent and responsive to customers. In so doing, they can add extra value, boost subscriber retention and unlock new revenue opportunities,” he said.

Lurie added, “This new relationship with Telkom Indonesia is another important step forward in our strategy to open up important revenue and growth opportunities for Synchronoss in dynamic international markets outside of North America. We look forward to working with Telkom Indonesia to help them realize the potential of their digital capabilities.”

Skybox Security Partners with Zscaler to Transform Legacy Business Access Policy to the Cloud

The Skybox-Zscalaer technical alliance will help organizations create secure and compliant cloud environments across the enterprise

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 05, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Skybox® Security, a global leader in cyber risk management, today announced a new partnership with Zscaler to transform business access and user policies from legacy networks to modern cloud architecture, ensuring secure and compliant environments throughout the enterprise.

“Security specialists are challenged with the complexities of implementing a cloud-first strategy for their hybrid environments,” said Skybox Security VP of Products Amrit Williams. “Skybox’s security policy management solutions cut through this complexity by enabling organizations to unify security management across hybrid networks. Skybox is excited to partner with Zscaler to help companies better model cloud-enabled business policies in the Skybox platform, providing customers with enhanced visibility and risk prioritization.”

“Organizations need a seamless way to deliver a consistent and compliant policy on or off network,” said Punit Minocha, SVP of Business and Corporate Development. “Zscaler cloud platform’s fast and secure policy-based access connects the right user to the right service or application. Combined with the Skybox’s security policy management solution, we simplify management and allow customers to transition their access policies to a modern cloud architecture.”

The partnership will deliver a seamless connection between Zscaler’s Cloud Firewall and the Skybox Security Suite. Zscaler policy information is aggregated directly into Skybox® Firewall and Network Assurance modules, and data is incorporated into Skybox’s visual model of hybrid network topology, security controls, assets and vulnerabilities.

Skybox then analyzes the firewalls to ensure they are enforcing desired security policies and proper network segmentation is in place. By analyzing network paths end to end — between and within networks, including cloud and virtual environments — Skybox can provide insight to how Zscaler Cloud Firewalls can provide necessary access while protecting critical assets. Skybox can also help ensure the firewall rules are created according to best practices, meet security policy requirements, don’t expose vulnerable assets, in addition to identify existing, overly permissive rules.

DOSH rules out vandalism in plunging lift incident

PUTRAJAYA, The Department of Occupational Safety and Health has ruled out vandalism in the incident on Friday afternoon, when a plunging lift at flats in Kampung Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur, injured eight terrified lift occupants including a child.

Speaking here today, department director general Ir Omar Mat Piah said the vandalism angle could be eliminated because in order for the lift doors to be opened by mischief-makers, a special key needed to be used, while there was restricted access to the motor room.

He said investigations into the matter were currently focused on technical details concerning what had caused the lift to move faster than usual.

According to media reports, during the Friday incident at the state housing project, the lift had suddenly plunged from the fifth floor to the ground with the doors open.

Disappearance of Irish girl raises questions

NILAI, The disappearance of an Irish teenager since yesterday at The Dusun resort here has not only gained widespread coverage in the local and international media, but also raised questions.

Locals were puzzled by the possibility that the 15-year-old girl, who has special needs, could have strayed from the resort.

“This is the first case of missing person at this resort because if you heard the case of missing trekker in Gunung Berembun, it’s normal, Kampung Kolam Air Pantai Tok Batin (village head) Ali Ngongor, told Bernama here today.

Ali, who is joining the search and rescue (SAR) mission, said it was impossible for the teenager to get into the thick jungle, let alone survive for a long time.

“But there is also possibility of mystical elements. The resort is not monitored, it’s all at one’s own risk, he said.

The Dusun, located 16 kilometres from the town of Seremban, is a private nature resort that begins with a durian orchard before being planted with a variety of trees and developed into a resort and opened to the public in 2009 with two houses or chalets.

International media practitioner Mohd Syawaluddin Mohd Zin said the disappearance of Nora Anne Quoirin, had drawn the attention of the international community.

“What’s more, she’s a special child,” he said adding that he had to commute from Kuala Lumpur to here to get coverage.

Negeri Sembilan deputy police chief SAC Che Zakaria Othman when met by Bernama at the scene said the number of SAR team members had increased to 168 compared to 159 this morning.

“The tracker unit of Senoi Praaq has also been mobilised and so far there has been no clue and no element of foul play,” he said, adding that the area of the search was extended to 12 kilometres from the resort.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Women Affairs, Family and Welfare Committee chairman Nicole Tan Lee Koon said efforts to meet the victim’s family members had been to no avail as they were not ready to receive guests.

“I have tried to meet the parents of the missing girl but they do not want to see anyone for now,” she said.

Check by Bernama found that some foreign tourists also helped to find the missing teenager and aerial search was being conducted by the police.

The media reported that the teenager’s parents awoke on Sunday morning to find their daughter missing from her bedroom at the resort.

Specialist dealer arrested with drugs worth over RM1 million

GEORGE TOWN, Penang police arrested a man who is suspected to be not a mere drug dealer but also a drug specialist capable of producing various types of drugs.

In a raid on a house at Taman Permai, Bukit Mertajam here last Wednesday, police also seized assorted types of drugs valued at a little over RM1 million.

Penang deputy police chief Datuk Roslee Chik today said a two-week intelligence and investigation findings led to the arrest of the man.

Further checks on the man’s rented house yielded 15.3kg of syabu, 12,650 ecstasy pills, 78.6gm of heroin worth RM1,143,550 and a machine believed to have been used for processing of the ecstasy pills, he told a media conference here today.

Roslee said the man was believed to have processed the pills himself before selling it at entertainment centres around the state since last year.

Police also believed that the man, who has nine prior records related to drugs, was working alone and had moved from place to place to avoid the authorities, he said.

Roslee said following the arrest, police also seized a car, an Audi A6 valued at RM80,000.

The man, who was also tested positive for drugs, has been remanded for seven days under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Meanwhile, Roslee said 580 individuals, including 308 drug addicts, were detained during the statewide operation dubbed ‘Ops Ice Breaker’, which was carried out from July 29 until yesterday.

He said the large-scale operation was launched simultaneously across the country to clean up areas identified as drug dens.

Between January and last Saturday, the Penang Narcotics Crime Investigation Department had arrested 8,112 people including 272 foreigners after they were tested positive for drugs, drug trafficking and drug possession and seized more than RM10 million worth of the illegal substances,” he said.
