Wireless Advocates Selects Synchronoss Digital Experience Platform for Digital and Retail Customer Journeys

Customers will be able to deploy best-in-class customer experiences while delivering offers rapidly across channels

BRIDGEWATER, N.J., Aug. 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Synchronoss Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SNCR), a global leader and innovator in cloud, messaging, digital and IoT platforms and products, today announced a partnership with Wireless Advocates, a leading provider of wireless products and services, both in more than 600 retail locations across the United States and online. Wireless Advocates will implement the Synchronoss Digital Experience Platform (DXP) and specifically its Digital Journeys product set into its enterprise architecture, delivering a best-in-class customer experience in its retail and digital environments.

Wireless Advocates operates retail kiosks and online sales activities for their national retail wholesale partners, Army & Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES), Marine Corps Exchange (MCX), Navy Exchange (NEX) and other retail partners. Wireless Advocates’ customers will be able to rapidly design and launch optimized digital and retail customer journeys, including start-online, finish in-store, pause and resume functionality through the use of the Synchronoss DXP.

Haze: Kuala Terengganu records unhealthy API

KUALA LUMPUR, Kuala Terengganu today recorded unhealthy air pollution reading level of 111 as of 6.00 pm today, according to the Malaysian Air Pollution Index (APIMS) data.

According to the data, Kuala Terengganu recorded unhealthy reading since 4.00am today with an API reading of 101 and reached its peak of 115 at noon.

APIMS also reported 66 areas of moderate to severe haze today including Kangar, Langkawi, Alor Setar, Sungai Petani, Kulim, Seberang Jaya, Seberang Perai, Balik Pulau, Taiping, Seri Manjung, Tanjung Malim, Cheras, Putrajaya and Kuala Selangor .

Yesterday, two areas, Rompin, Pahang and Johan Setia, Klang, were reported to be at an unhealthy API with readings of 104 and 107.

Meanwhile, Singapore-based ASEAN Special Meteorological Centre (ASMC) reported zero hotspots throughout the peninsula of Malaysia and Sumatera, as of 5.37pm.

ASMC also reported 25 hot spots in Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan as well as three hot spots in Sulawesi and the Java islands.

Yesterday, haze was reported following a forest fire in six regions in Indonesia involving Riau, South Sumatera, Jambi, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.

API reading of 0-50 shows good air quality; 51-100, moderate; 101-200, unhealthy; 201-300, very unhealthy and over 300, dangerous.

Road from Kuchai Lama to Putrajaya closed temporarily

KUALA LUMPUR, The road from Kuchai Lama towards Putrajaya will be closed temporarily starting Aug 5 to 10, to make way for beam raising works for the Kuchai Link 2 Project at Kuchai Lama Intersection.

Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd, concessionaire of the Sungai Besi Highway (Lebuhraya Besraya), in a statement today said that the road closure will take effect from 10 pm to 5 am, and traffic will be diverted to the traffic light intersection near Taman Sungai Besi.

Traffic from Kampung Malaysia meanwhile, will use the Kuchai Lama traffic light intersection to the city centre due to the closure of the main road heading to the city centre, the statement said.

Highway users are advised to follow all safety signage instructions and temporary directions to avoid confusion.

Bernama clarifies on fake website

KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today clarified that there is a fake website which is similar to the official website of the news agency.

In a statement issued today, Bernama stressed that the website was not its and was intended to confuse the public.

Several journalists have also denied writing the articles there which carry their names, the statement said.

Bernama will lodge a police report on the matter and will inform the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

Five finger durian and palm sugar dodol among crowd pullers at Dataran Pahlawan

MELAKA, Traditional Melaka delicacy Dodol Gula Melaka and the state’s own durian variety ‘Lima Jari’ or Five Fingers Durian are expected to be the draw factors to the launch of Bulan Kebangsaan and Kibar Jalur Gemilang 2019 at Dataran Pahlawan here.

A visit by Bernama found that although the historical program would only be launched by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad tomorrow night, crowds are already gathering at the square since early morning to have a look at the booths taking part in the festivities.

Melaka Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) Assistant Economics Officer Sahela Mat Jelan, 30, said FAMA will sell various local fruits during the three-day program which starts today.

We have a new breed of durian called the Five Finger Durian on sale at our booth.

The Five Finger Durian is a locally cultivated breed which can only be found in Asahan, Melaka, she said when met by Bernama at FAMA’s booth here.

Sahela said the durians are being sold between RM12 and RM15 per kilogram and each durian weighs around two to three kilograms.

Meanwhile, Ima Noor Dodol booth is also a crowd puller for lovers of this local sweetmeat.

Ima Dodol owner, Hashim Kidam, 50 said he had been making dodol since 10 years ago using his family recipe.

Whoever wants a taste of the authentic Melaka dodol, please come to our booth to sample our delights. Among the variety of dodols we have are palm sugar dodol, sticky dodol and durian dodol, he said.
