BitWallet Launches Its Revolutionary Cryptocurrency App for Apple Devices

HOUSTON, April 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Today, the BitWallet company launches a powerful new cryptocurrency wallet for Apple devices, which now make cryptocurrency transactions possible to anyone with an iPhone or iPad.  Available on the AppStore, it enables customers to store, send, and receive Bitcoin as well as other major ‘altcoins’.  BitWallet for iOS

A hit with consumers, BitWallet’s simple design offers a much-needed entryway for everyday people to start using cryptocurrency. “Most crypto apps are confusing for new users. We designed BitWallet to be simple enough for anyone to use, which solves a big problem in our industry,” said John T. Perrone, President and CEO of BitWallet, Incorporated.

BitWallet utilizes blockchain technology to allow users to instantly transfer any amount of digital currency to anywhere in the world, for little to no fees. Though digital transactions are relatively new to consumers, BitWallet has big plans to make commercial cryptocurrency transactions as common as credit card purchases. The big difference: BitWallet will allow businesses to accept payments for nearly a third of the fee that credit cards charge.

Financial Technology

The world watched as Bitcoin grew from just pennies eight years ago to almost $20,000 per coin in early 2018. The global currency has since stabilized in price at approximately $4,000 per Bitcoin with a total market cap of over $70 billion. Market cap for all cryptocurrencies combined totals more than $120 billion.

Bitcoin enjoyed a big year in 2018 as Wall Street and other traditional financial institutions invested significant resources in digital currency.  The future of digital currency is only improving as financial industry giants like J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and the New York Stock Exchange enter the space. Impending regulation will bring into focus the scope of cryptocurrency transactions, and it is expected to foster a breakthrough for digital commerce throughout the world.

Next Steps for BitWallet

The BitWallet application will support a long list of altcoins along with a cryptocurrency trading feature. The company also expects to develop a mapping technology to connect consumers to businesses that accept digital currency. BitWallet Incorporated’s headquarters and principal operations are located in Houston, Texas.

Ferratum Group announces new title sponsor partnership with STARD for the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship

Press release: Ferratum Group announces new title sponsor partnership with STARD for the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship

Helsinki, 8th of April 2019 – Ferratum Oyj (“Ferratum” or the “Group”) is pleased to announce a new sponsoring partnership as title sponsor of the STARD race team for the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship.

For nearly 14 years, Ferratum has been at the forefront of technological disruption in financial services by challenging the status-quo through constant in-house technological innovation to bring new, fully digital and real-time financial solutions and services to personal and business customers globally.

In the FIA World Rallycross car racing industry, the STARD racing team is at the forefront of the game in motorsports and shares the same unconventional mindset. Using disruptive technologies to support the development and management of their racing cars, STARD thinks outside of the box and is constantly raising the standards of diagnostic accuracy and performance analysis after each race, similar to Ferratum´s constant evaluation and improvement of it´s credit scoring algorithms. There is a clear DNA match between the organisations of Ferratum and STARD, which makes the partnership highly attractive.

The partnership entails the provision and management of two new Ford Fiesta RXS Evo 5 Supercars by STARD, bearing Ferratum logos in the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship.

The FIA World Rallycross Championship’s popularity increases dramatically year over year, and it’s global dedicated broadcast viewership has jumped by 22% year on year from 2017 to 2018 to reach over 678 million households.

Jorma Jokela, CEO and Founder of Ferratum commented:

“Since our formation in 2005, we have strived to offer our customers the fastest and most convenient loans, later on expanding also to further financial services. Our partnership with STARD in FIA World Rallycross allows us to bring our brand and services closer to an even broader audience – some of the fastest cars in racing advertising the equally fast services offered by Ferratum, it is a perfect match. In the same way that we are driving innovation in financial services, the team with STARD is at the forefront of technological advances in motorsports and world RX races, with a highly innovative and technologically advanced team, and we look forward to continuing this partnership and the great mutual benefits from our collaboration.”

Michael Sakowicz, CEO and founder STARD:

“With Ferratum Group we found a forward thinking and open minded partner, perfectly matching our mindset at STARD. That enabled us to manage, to setup and start our new 2 car 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship programme within an incredibly short amount of time. We are very looking forward to the further, so far fantastic, cooperation with the whole Ferratum team in order to expand our common activity also beyond Rallycross still this year. Although we cannot disclose any details yet, just so much: be prepared for quite a few proper surprises to be included! Clearly Ferratum is one of the most dynamic non-technical sponsorship partner we have ever cooperated with so far, and coming home after the Abu Dhabi World RX season opener race at the Formula 1 Race Track Yas Marina this weekend, with Janis Baumanis being classified as 3rd overall in the drivers ranking is certainly an appropriate start for this cooperation and for our new car´s race debut”

Hollywood Action Star Steven Seagal To Be In Kuching City For Aiffa 2019

KUCHING: Hollywood action star Steven Seagal will be making special appearances during the Asean International Film Festival and Awards (Aiffa) 2019, taking place here on April 25-27.

The veteran actor will be in the city throughout the three-day festival, joining local and international celebrities such as ‘Asean Jazz Queen’ Sheila Majid and former ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ hosts Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez.

Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah says ‘Sarawak is very fortunate’ to host Seagal in Aiffa this year.

He will be in town throughout the festival, where he will be meeting fans at the Old Courthouse on April 27, with the session to commence at 3pm, Abdul Karim, who is a fan of Seagal, told reporters during a press conference at a hotel here yesterday.

Datuk Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh were among the international superstars who had made special appearances in previous editions of Aiffa.

On Aiffa 2019, Abdul Karim described the fourth edition of the biennial festival as ‘being significant’ for Sarawak, in view of it coinciding with the Visit Sarawak Campaign (VSC) this year.

This is one of the events that can promote Sarawak to the tourism and film industries and since its introduction here in 2013, the festival has grown from strength to strength having established itself as one of the premier film festivals in Asean, he remarked.

Abdul Karim pointed out that one of the highlights would be the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Pictures Group, a Chinese film production company under Alibaba Group, which has produced blockbusters such as ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout’ and ‘Star Trek Beyond’.

They will be coming down to sign a MoU with Aiffa, as well as to try and probe into how they can come into Sarawak or Malaysia to do filming.

For such a big production company to come down to Kuching for this film festival, this reflects that they have confidence in Aiffa and want to know more about Sarawak and Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Aiffa festival director Livan Tajang said the highly-anticipated Aiffa 2019 Gala Night this April 27 would feature 29 shortlisted films from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam, Lao and the Philippines all eyeing for the coveted awards such as ‘Best Picture-Drama’, ‘Best Picture-Action’, ‘Best Picture-Comedy’, ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Actress’, ‘Best Supporting Actor’, ‘Best Supporting Actress’, and ‘Best Director’.

Screenings of the shortlisted films will be held from April 25 to 28 to give everyone ample opportunity to catch some of the competing films from the Asean region, she said, adding that members of the public could catch the free screenings at the Old Courthouse Auditorium, from 10am to 8pm daily.

On April 25, the ‘Party by the River’ will mark the launch of Aiffa 2019, which is also open to the public from 7pm onwards at the Kuching Waterfront extension next to the Grand Margherita Hotel.

This free event will host performances and also announcement of the nominated films, as well as the premier screening of ‘Nightmare in Bali: Kajeng Kliwon’ a supernatural horror film shot in Bali. It is a joint-production with cast and crew from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Livan also listed other interesting events such as the ‘Starcraft Workshop’ at Restoran Budaya, Sarawak Steamship Building this April 25, slated for local aspiring actors, film make-up artists or anyone interested in pursuing such careers; and also the ‘Aiffa Biz World Day One’ at the Old Courthouse Event Hall on April 26, which would hold the launch, digital film talks and signing of several MoUs.

Another anticipated event would be the pitching session at Aiffa Biz World on April 27 at the Old Courthouse, from 10am onwards, where filmmakers could pitch their ideas to financiers towards securing funding for production.

We will also be conducting the first talent casting session with an international cast director based in Hong Kong, who provides international cast to Hollywood, China and Hong Kong, disclosed Livan.

The casting session would be held at Restoran Budaya, Sarawak Steamship Building here this April 27, commencing at 11am.

So aspiring actors and actresses can come for the audition with their CVs, added Livan.

Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin, and Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports permanent secretary Hii Chang Kee were also present at the press conference.

Sarawak To Take Over Bridge Projects In Igan, Rambungan, Btg Lupar

MUKAH: The Sarawak government would provide the funding for and take over the bridge projects in Igan, Rambungan and Batang Lupar, said Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi said.

According to him, these three bridge projects were approved by the previous federal government, but were later put on hold by the new administration.

Construction of roads, bridges and some other facilities is the responsibility of the federal government.

However, the state government has to take over the construction of these bridges after the new government decided to postpone them.

This is because the state government understands the aspirations and wishes of the people, he said after officiating at a ceremony yesterday to mark the commencement of works on roads from Kampung Igan to Sungai Ilas and Kampung Sah Kebuaw.

It is said that the first phase of the 8.5km road project costs RM43 million. On a related matter Julaihi, who is Sebuyau assemblyman, said the majority of projects such as roads and bridges, would need huge allocations due to the geographical condition and vast land size of Sarawak. Allocations from the federal government for such projects are usually insufficient.

LTdL: Dyball wins Queen’s Stage, wrests yellow jersey

GENTING HIGHLANDS, Australian rider, Benjamin Dyball of Team Sapura Cycling (TSC) wrested the 2019 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) yellow jersey (overall leader) from Travis McCabe of Floyd’s Pro Cycling Team after winning the Queen’s Stage from Shah Alam to Genting Highlands, today.

The 29-year-old, who was among three attackers in the Hors Class climb to Genting Highlands, finished the 114.2km Stage Four in 3 hours 22 minutes and 2 seconds, ahead of Colombian Hernan Ricardo Aguirre Caipa of Interpro Cycling Academy (3:22.25s) and American Keegan Swirbul of Floyd’s Pro Cycling Team (3:22:46s).

The Oceania champion has a good chance of defending the yellow jersey until the final stage on Saturday with a 27-second lead over Hernan Ricardo Aguirre (17:26:09s), if he continues to perform the same way.

We had two attackers trying to go, I tried to follow them They looked strong, I was not 100 percent confident I could drop them, but they started to slow a bit. So I just rode on my own tempo towards the finishing line.

The last 3km was very difficult, so I just tried to basically get out of the climb, it was very hard. For the next stages, we have a good team, we should control the race and shouldn’t have problems (to retain the yellow jersey), he told reporters after winning the Genting climb which has 1,645 metres of ascent

However, Dyball failed to wrest the red jersey (King of Mountain) from his compatriot, Angus Lyons of Oliver’s Real Good Racing.

Lyons (47 points) leads with a 22-point advantage over Dyball (25 points).

Meanwhile, McCabe still holds the green jersey (King of Sprint), 43 points ahead of fellow countryman Michael Freiberg of Pro Cycling Sunshine Coast Cycling and Italian Andrea Guardini of Bardiani CSF, as both sprinters accumulated 28 points.

Kazakhstan’s Vadim Pronskiy of Vino-Astana Motors finished fourth (3:23:01s) to wrest the white jersey as Best Asian Rider from Malaysian National Team rider Sofian Nabil Omar Mohd Bakri.

Dyball’s teammate, Muhammad Zawawi Azman emerged as the best Malaysian rider, in 26th place out of 120 riders with a time of 3:27:15s, to lead the overall Malaysian riders chart with 17:31:19s, followed by Nik Mohd Azwan Zulkifle (17:33:38s) of the Malaysian National Team and teammate Muhamad Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff (17:35:55s).

As TSC’s other two foreign riders, Cristian Raileanu (3:25:37s) of Moldova and Australian Jesse Ewart (3:25:51s) finished 15th and 17th respectively, the Malaysian team captured back second position in the Overall Team Classification with 52:24:55s, 1:08s behind Floyd’s Pro Cycling (52:23:47s) from Canada. Actually we succeeded in achieving what we planned for Congratulations to all the riders for working hard to get this result. This is our third year, so we are better prepared in terms of the team, riders and the supporting team, we will continue to do our best till the end, said TSC team manager Mohd Sayuti Zahit.
